  • Point S ranked second of 32 tyre retailers in Consumer Reports’ 2026 US member survey, one point behind the top-rated chain
  • In the UK, Point S ranked third of 20 retailers in Tyres & Accessories’ 2026 Tyre Retail Ranking for the second consecutive year, adding 58 points of sale – growth unmatched by any other business or network
  • Network credited withexemplary marks across key service categories in the US

Point S, the world’s largest independent tyre dealer and automotive service network, has achieved significant accolades on both sides of the Atlantic, with independent rankings recognising it among the top three tyre retailers in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The achievements cap a period of record global growth in the organisation’s 55th anniversary year.

In the United States, Consumer Reports’ latest member survey placed Point S second among 32 tyre retailers. The survey drew on responses from more than 24,500 consumers, rating retail chains, independent shops and car dealerships. Point S finished just one point behind the top-ranked retailer, earning the non-profit organisation’s coveted ‘CR Recommended’ status.

The survey awarded Point S top marks for installation quality, sales service, checkout ease and appointment availability,– a powerful endorsement of the value delivered by its member-owned model. With more than 400 Point S retailers now operating across the US, the ranking places the network ahead of some of North America’s largest and best-known tyre retail chains.

In the United Kingdom, Point S has retained third place among 20 retailers in Tyres & Accessories’ 2026 Tyre Retail Ranking. It is the second year in succession the network has held a top-three position in the trade title’s authoritative annual assessment of the country’s leading tyre retail operations. The network’s 400-strong UK operation grew by 58 points of sale over the ranking period, an increase no other business or network in the ranking was able to match, prompting the publication to observe that Point S is “aiming for the top of the tree”.

Validation of a global model

The transatlantic recognition arrives at a moment of exceptional momentum for the network. Founded in France in 1971, Point S now operates more than 7,200 points of sale in 54 countries across five continents, selling more than 20 million tyres annually with consolidated network turnover exceeding US$5 billion.

Growth is accelerating: a record 389 centres joined the network in 2025, and 116 more were added in the opening months of 2026 – an average of more than one new Point S point of sale opening every single day. The network has also entered three new markets this year, launching operations in Greece, Cyprus and Zambia through Master Franchise agreements with established local operators.

Central to this growth is a model that gives independent tyre and automotive service businesses access to international supplier agreements, technical training, marketing support and proven retail systems – while preserving the local ownership and entrepreneurial independence that consumers consistently reward. The Consumer Reports findings bear this out: independent retailers as a group rated near the very top of the satisfaction table, with Point S the highest-placed branded network built on that independent foundation.

Fabien Bouquet, CEO of Point S International, said: “To be recognised among the top three tyre retailers in two of the world’s most competitive markets is one of the most meaningful endorsements our network could receive. It validates what we have always believed: that independent, locally owned businesses, backed by the scale and expertise of a global network, deliver the best experiences and the best value for motorists. As we celebrate 55 years and welcome new members at a faster rate than at any point in our history, this recognition belongs to every one of our members worldwide.”

Ali Yilmaz, Managing Director of Point S UK, added: “The UK tyre retail landscape is undergoing one of the most significant transformations the sector has seen in decades. To hold third place in the Tyres & Accessories ranking for a second year shows that independent dealers see Point S as the right home in a consolidating market.

Walter Lyback, CEO of Point S USA, commented: “This result belongs to our member-owners. More than 24,500 consumers told Consumer Reports that Point S stores deliver some of the best service in the country. That’s our model working: a trusted local shop with real standards, ethics, and people who care more because their name is on the line, with a global network behind them. Proof that when local ownership meets global reach, drivers win.”

Consumer Reports is an independent, non-profit member organisation founded 90 years ago, whose ratings are regarded as among the most trusted consumer benchmarks in North America. Its tyre retailer scores are derived from members’ ratings of installation quality, sales service, free perks, installation time, selection, stock availability, checkout ease and appointment availability.
